Praise the Lord! Through the giving of God’s people, we have been able to pay out over $700,000 in expenses for our new addition. We are scheduled to finish under our initial estimate of $1.5 million.
The nursery will be completed in May and has almost doubled in size!
In the rest of the addition we are currently installing dry wall, mudding, texturing, and adding insulation. Around the beginning of May we will be painting and finishing up details for electrical, HVAC, and A/V that needed to be done after sheet rocking. Lord willing, we will be completed with the project in June, 2011.
We praise the Lord for the unity and safety He has granted thus far.
What- With this addition we are meeting the following needs:
- Multipurpose Room- Gymnasium quality, with volleyball and basketball capability, AWANA circle in carpet
- Larger and attached Youth room
- Larger Nursery
- Larger Kitchen
Why-
- Currently all rooms being used by AWANA on Wed nights, that includes kitchen, hallways, etc… AWANA- over 100 children each Wed night and 40 workers
- Youth Group- MS-35 -40 students and 6 workers; HS 35-40 students and 6 workers- Difficult to play indoor games with that many youth inside youth building. No possibility of splitting up into smaller groups.
- Sun. mornings all rooms being used for Sunday School classes, no extra room for additional adult classes, like a ladies’ class or newcomer’s classes or additional ABFs.
- Nursery is over-crowded.
The multipurpose room:
- Provides more Sunday School room space- potentially 2-3 ABFs could meet in there
- Provides more space for funerals, weddings, receptions, dinners, fellowship events, outreach events, potential regional events.
- A gym for sports outreach and fellowship – adults and youth
- Eliminates the need to move chairs every week
