Brothers and sisters of Le Mars Bible Church,
Governor Reynolds this week has prohibited indoor gatherings of more than 25 people unless masks are required for all those 2 and up, through November 30. She explained in her press conference that there is a spike in cases and hospitalizations in Iowa, and that they have concerns about having enough health care workers available to treat those who are sick. The governor's proclamation includes an exception for churches, but to honor our God-given leaders and to do our part in keeping Covid from spreading in our church and community, we plan to comply with this new requirement.
What's this mean at LBC? Through November 30, we will now be requiring masks for all those 2 years old and up at all worship services, at Awana and youth group, and at all other indoor gatherings of 25 or more. This mask requirement will include some who we previously had not been requiring to wear masks, such as nursery workers and 2-3 year olds. However, we will allow the following exceptions: (1) anyone who cannot safely wear a mask for health reasons will not be expected to wear one, and (2) Bible teachers and worship leaders may remove their masks while ministering.
Looking ahead, we plan not to have a staffed nursery through November.
However, Lord willing, we do plan to restart Awana, youth group, and flock groups next Wednesday Nov 18. And we plan to restart children's church and Sunday School on Nov. 22.
Thank you for your flexibility as the Lord guides us through these crazy days. We are grateful for improving health for many among us who were not feeling well.
